Specifications:
The torsion bar system shall be constructed of 5/16″ dia. spring steel bar connected to the hatch frame with welded-on torsion bar clips. The size and weight of the cover shall dictate length and configuration of torsion bar(s).

Cover shall require no more than 30lbs of force to open using lifting handle.

Specifications:
The compression spring system shall be constructed of telescoping, plated steel tubes which contain and compress a spring for lift force.

Size and weight of cover shall dictate the number of spring units required. Cover shall require no more than 30lbs. of force to open using lifting handle.

Specifications:
The gas shock system shall consist of gas-charged pistons mounted to the hatch frame and cover with pivot tab brackets. Size and weight of cover shall dictate the number of shocks required.

Cover shall require no more than 30lbs. of force to open using lifting handle.

Specifications:
The stainless steel slam lock shall be operated from inside the hatch area with an integral handle. Operation from the exterior shall be with a removable “T” handle.

When the slam lock is requested it replace the standard padlock post. If both are desired, specify option F.

Specifications:
The recessed padlock housing shall consist of an aluminum housing which slides over a padlock tab welded to the hatch frame. The housing is protected by a cover attached with a stainless steel hinge.

Specifications:
This option shall include the standard padlock post and a slam lock.

Specifications:
A nonferrous threaded plug protecting the “T” handle port. The plug is installed and removed with an allen wrench.

Specifications:
The recessed handle shall consist of a 3″ X 8″ hole cut into the cover, with a backer plate welded from underneath. The lifting handle shall be mounted on this plate, with the top of the handle flush with the upper surface of the tread plate cover.

Specifications:
A thick coat of bitumastic coal-tar epoxy shall be applied to the exterior of the hatch frame.

Specifications:
The center bar on double door hatches shall be either an aluminum angle or 4″ aluminum channel welded to the hatch frame

Specifications:
The sealing gasket shall consist of a flexible neoprene strip or o-ring fastened to the hatch frame. The gasket helps to prevent odors from leaking through the hatch.

Specifications:
Removable chains shall consist of two stainless steel chains attached to the opened covers of a double door hatch. The chains are clipped to one cover, and hooked to the other with a snap link swivel.

Specifications:
Unless specified, the nutrail option shall consist of two full length rails welded to the hinge and lock sides of the hatch frame. 6 nuts are provided for attaching accessories.

Specifications:
J-hooks shall be constructed of (4) -3/8″ aluminum bar welded to the hatch frame.

Specifications:
When required, the concrete anchor portion of the standard extrusion shall be removed.
